The members of the Mission Beach Woman's Club
are once again planning a great Spring Fundraiser. This will be our 6th annual event to
raise money to improve our beach community.
This year we are raising money to support the San Diego Junior Lifeguard Program.
This fabulous program, located at the Santa Clara Recreation Center in Mission Beach, benefits over 1,000 children
each summer by educating the youth of San Diego about beach and ocean safety. The children develop confidence,
mental and physical fitness, and respect for one another and the environment. Unfortunately, the Junior
Lifeguard Program has been hard hit by the financial crisis that the City of San Diego is experiencing. The
program’s very existence now depends on donations and contributions. The goal of our fundraiser is
to provide significant financial assistance for the program.
Our Spring Fundraiser will
be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, from 3-6 PM on the deck of The Pennant in South Mission Beach.
Admission is free, and the fundraiser is open to the public (21 and over). The event will feature a silent auction, refreshments,
and games with prizes. You are invited to attend the event and participate in the games and silent auction. Local
business owners have generously donated goods and services to be used for the silent auction and for the game prizes. There
are always great items to bid on and fun games to play.
